Job description:Significant Senior Leadership role with the External Affairs Business UnitExecutive Remuneration PackageWadawurrung/Geelong based opportunity with hybrid workingAbout the opportunityThe Director, Communications is a key leadership position responsible for implementing WorkSafe’s communications strategies across earned and owned media and communications channels. The incumbent will work closely with other senior leaders across WorkSafe to ensure the consistent and cohesive delivery of internal and external communications, and plays a pivotal role in managing the communication of issues and upholding WorkSafe’s reputation.The Director, Communications will lead the Media, Content Strategy, Strategic Communications, Digital Communications, Corporate and Internal Communications teams, working in close association with the Marketing and Government and Executive Services functions to ensure consistency and integration of programs and messages.Working closely with the Executive Director, External Affairs, you will lead the planning and delivery of WorkSafe’s communications across earned and owned channels, in line with our strategic objectives.You will provide leadership to the Communications team to ensure the use of best practice methodologies and enable the highest level of service to both internal and external stakeholders.You will partner with the Executive Leadership Team to prepare advice and responses for significant public issues and collaborate with a diverse group of external stakeholders to manage risks.You will lead the development and implementation of WorkSafe’s media, digital communications and corporate communications strategies and oversee the development and implementation of internal change communications strategies and activities.About youTo be successful in this role, you will have significant experience leading an internal channel and/or employee communications function within a complex environment. You will have proven ability to manage key stakeholder relationships and use these to influence and implement effective communication strategies initiatives.
