Job Purpose
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Solutions Engineer to join our growing team!
This role will assist with designing Engineered Processes and applying Automation and Technologies within warehouse and logistical processes to drive efficient, commercially viable business proposals with a focus on continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
* Drive requirement gathering sessions with stakeholders
* Work with external consultants to deliver solution design projects and/or customer RFQ when required
* Understand contractual commitments and other data to plan and develop logistics activities
* Present solution to the client and internal senior management when required
* Continually research the current and emerging automation/ technologies to incorporate in new business proposal or to propose changes in existing warehouse or activities where suitable
* Clearly present and demonstrate the impact of designed processes to warehouse design, technologies required, service to customer and all stakeholders
* Design and present tailored solutions to enhance the customer experience
* Analyse detailed data to determine suitable processes and workflows
* Identify appropriate storage and MHE types and methodologies for effective warehouse operations (manual or automated if needed)
* Draw and provide visualisation for warehouse layout to support the processes, FTE and goods movements, technologies and storage medias
* Conduct time studies and workflow movement measurement analysis to determine the current productivity and cycle times, and hence review the usage of appropriate MHE in relation to product specification, operations requirement, and layout where necessary
* Define specifications and act as a counterpart to our global and regional supplier partners for automation and technology utilisation in warehouses
* Collate accurate costs from solution and provide or support selling rates based on required customer pricing template
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following:
* Bachelors’ degree, in Industrial Engineering / Logistics Engineering / Automation & Mechatronics Engineering or similar or proven experience in a similar role
* Project Management and/or Lean/ Six Sigma methodologies exposure or certifications are a plus
* 5+ years’ experience in logistics, warehousing or 3PL industries, preferably in a multinational logistics environment
* 3+ years’ experience with a wide variety of Contract Logistics Solution Design or Industrial Engineering or Process Improvement
* Experience in designing and supporting implementation solutions for modern warehouse and distribution, incorporating automation, robotics, and warehousing innovations
* Pragmatic financial acumen to understand the correlation of warehouse activities and capital expenses and their impacts on overall P&L
* Structured and organized approach to project and proven ability to deliver results on time and on budget
