The Role
We have an opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our team at Quorum, based in Sydney NSW, Brisbane QLD, OR Melbourne VIC. Please note that while this is a full-time position, we are also open to part-time or flexible-hours arrangements for the right candidate.
The Finance Manager is responsible for leading our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all processes. This role is critical in maintaining financial stability, driving strategic decision-making, and ensuring strong financial controls.
You will oversee daily accounting transactions, including bank and credit card reconciliations, invoicing, and full accounts payable/receivable functions. You'll own the end-of-month process, ensuring timely financial closure, accurate reporting, and compliance with GAAP standards. Additionally, you will manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, providing leadership with clear insights to guide business decisions.
Beyond financial operations, you'll ensure statutory obligations such as VAT and TPAR submissions are completed accurately and on time, working with external accountants as needed. You’ll also oversee procurement processes, supplier and customer payments, and maintain financial policies and procedures to support efficiency and growth.
Managing one direct report, you'll play a key role in optimising financial systems, improving processes, and contributing to the long-term financial success of the business.

We’re looking for a Finance Manager who is more than just numbers-driven—someone who takes ownership, and drives financial excellence. You’ll need to be a strategic thinker, not just reporting numbers but providing insights that shape business decisions. A proactive problem-solver, you anticipate financial challenges before they arise and implement smart, effective solutions.

A gifted communicator and presenter, you will be naturally curious, process-driven, highly analytical, and display exceptional attention to detail. This role requires a strong, proactive communicator, as you’ll be working closely with leadership, external accountants, and internal teams, breaking down complex financial information in a clear and meaningful way. As a mentor and SME, you’ll provide guidance and support, leading by example with integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of ethics.
We’re looking for someone who is results-driven, ensuring financial processes run smoothly, compliance is met, and reporting is insightful and timely. You should be adaptable and resilient, thriving under pressure, meeting deadlines with confidence, and managing multiple priorities effectively.
Role Requirements:
* Experience & Expertise – 7+ years' experience in an Accountant or Finance Manager role with a proven track record in financial management, reporting, and compliance.
* Technical Proficiency – Strong proficiency in Xero is required, and any experience with Business Central will be highly valued. You'll also require advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with American GAAP accounting standards.
* Financial Management & Compliance – Expertise in accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, cash flow management, and end-of-month processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements (BAS, TPAR, Superannuation).
* Reporting & Strategic Insight – Ability to lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to provide leadership with key insights for decision-making.
* Process & Risk Management – Experience maintaining financial policies, internal controls, and ensuring compliance with tax obligations, payroll, and supplier payments.
* Leadership & Relationship Management – Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and manage a direct report (Sales Support Officer) while maintaining relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Previous people-management experience is not required, but will be looked upon favourably.
* Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to make strategic decisions based on accurate financial analysis.
* Adaptability & Time Management – Ability to work under pressure, and manage multiple financial deadlines.
* Integrity & Confidentiality – A strong sense of ethics, dependability, and discretion when handling sensitive financial information.
