Job Title: Transport Design Lead
About the Role
The Transport team has delivered infrastructure design across State Government, municipal, and private sector, providing integrated transportation solutions that link communities and enhance urban and regional environments. As a key member of our growing team, you will play a role in maintaining our existing client base, exploring new opportunities, and ensuring technical excellence from our Design team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation of conceptual and detailed designs using 12D and AutoCAD for road infrastructure, drainage, sewer & water systems, and associated infrastructure.
* Manage project deliverables, including quality control and coordination of drafting staff.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of our design and drafting standards.
* Liaise with Project Managers and Designers to ensure designs are within scope and comply with relevant standards and conditions.
* Develop and implement the business strategy.
* Oversee the quality of work performed by others and promote a culture of technical excellence through mentoring and training less experienced modellers/designers.
Requirements
* 10 years of Road design experience, combined with strong skills in the use of design software.
* Extensive experience delivering Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) projects, all in accordance with their specifications.
* Strong understanding of 12d scripting and macros.
* Good understanding of the Required Level of Development (LOD) for BIM Projects in Linear Infrastructure.
* BASIC understanding of ISO19650 – Essential.
* Able to tailor workflows to meet specific project requirements based on project DEXPs.
* Understanding of interoperability across different software platforms.
* Strong understanding of 12d Synergy.
* Good understanding of other Common Data Environments such as ACC and ProjectWise.
* Able to use 12D Model Software and AutoCAD design packages.
* Experience with Navisworks, InfraWorks, or similar building information modeling (BIM) software for federated model creation is highly desirable.
* Strong interpersonal and supervision skills, broad communication and negotiation skills.
* Able to spearhead and manage projects and teams to ensure work output is delivered on time.
* Able to work within a multi-disciplinary team and encourage collaboration.
