Quality Technician Australia - Melbourne Based
Intralox L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, has a position available for a Quality Technician in Melbourne Plant to ensure our products meet or exceed customer expectations. This position needs to evaluate, improve, and maintain our Manufacturing processes/equipment to ensure our product production meets the company’s exacting standards of Quality
Responsibilities:
* Perform Quality Audits and Inspections: Ensure process/product compliance to safety and quality standards. May perform first and/or last piece inspection to authorize commencement of production or shipment of product.
* Verify Process/Product Conformance: Use precise measuring equipment/tools/fixtures (such as CMM, optical comparator, 3D scanner, calipers, micrometers, and gauges) to verify part/product conformance against Quality specifications/drawings.
* Interpret Drawings/Validate Design Intent: Verify parts/products meet specifications (e.g., color, design, functionality) outlined in the Engineering/Quality blueprint/drawing and align with production processes.
* Document/Report Non-Conformances: Bound, contain, and document part/product non-conformance upon identification.
* Monitoring Production Processes/Equipment: Closely observe production process performance through its various stages to ensure quality and reliability of products without impeding production rates.
* Calibrating Test Equipment/Fixtures: Calibrate and/or evaluate proper functioning of measurement devices to ensure accuracy and required specifications are met.
* Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) Investigations: Support 5-Why analysis across cross-functional departments/teams to ensure corrective and/or preventive actions prevent recurrence of internal and external complaints.
* Disposition Non-conforming Parts/Products: Collaborate across Manufacturing/Engineering Teams and/or the Material Review Board (MRB) to determine the appropriate part/product acceptance.
* Continuous Improvement Opportunities: Identify opportunities through data analysis to increase efficiency and/or reduce cost in our processes/products.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* 3-5 years in Manufacturing performing in a Quality role.
* Good communication ability to influence others and solicit buy-in within small group settings. Effectively explain the What as well as clearly articulate the How.
* Attention to details, trained eye to identify defects and deviations. Vision acuity testing may be required.
* Hands-on approach with sense of urgency work ethic. Prioritize important vs urgent tasks to maximize productivity.
* Familiarity with industry-specific quality standards, good at Microsoft tools, e.g. Word, Excel.
* Proficient in imperial/metric measurement systems.
* Develop well-reasoned conclusions and solutions, evaluating them against relevant criteria and standards.
* Self-managed, Self-guided, self-disciplined thinking which attempts to reason at the highest level of quality in a fair-minded way.
Desires Qualifications:
* AQF and/or ASQ Certification.
* Basic understanding of the following: quality concepts, quality tools, probability, statistics, GD&T, calibrations, and metrology.
* Historical application of the seven basic quality tools for process improvement: cause-and-effect diagram, check sheet, control chart, histogram, Pareto chart, scatter diagram, and stratification.
* AuSQ Lean and Six Sigma experience is a plus.
