This will involve having responsibility for project team leadership, staff management and development and providing technical direction on projects, as well as the financial performance of projects and business development activities.This is a new role and the postholder will report directly to the Cities, Planning and Design Team Leader.
In addition, they will work closely with the Australasia Transport Planning Regional Service Leader in order to help develop the business throughout the region.
The postholder will work closely with the leaders of the other Businesses and Services in Adelaide in order to support and enhance the firm's multi-disciplinary offer.The Opportunity Be part of the leadership team responsible for the current and future direction of the South Australian Transport Planning team;Be responsible for procuring work, negotiating major contracts and for financial performance in several specified areas;Accountable for the development, design and management of large, complex, long term projects.This will involve coordinating people, facilities and resources within tight timelines and inline with budgetary constraints;Provide the technical direction on projects through in depth knowledge of sustainable transport and public transport planning and may be responsible for recruitment, appraisals, performance development, morale and motivation of staff;Responsible for executing responsibilities as outlined in Arup's Quality Management System.
Is this role right for you?
At least 10 years of experience in transport planning within a consulting or government business environment.Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Planning or Civil Engineering or similar area.In depth knowledge of the fundamentals of transport planning analysis and design.Proven track record in business development.Superior understanding of local and interstate markets and relationships within these markets.
