Sunshine, VIC Full time, ongoing role Are you a psychologist looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, innovative mental health service? Join a multidisciplinary team at the Brimbank Local Adult and Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Service. This service, operated in partnership with cohealth, Clarity Health Care, and the University of Melbourne, is part of the Victorian Government's response to the Royal Commission into Mental Health, offering accessible, high-quality mental health care to individuals aged 26 and over in the Brimbank community.
The position
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a service that is easy to access and designed to support people experiencing mental illness or psychological distress. Your work will directly impact the lives of those in need, providing psychological assessments, individual and group treatments, and coordinated care, while also contributing to outreach efforts.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering group and individual treatment with a focus on positive outcomes Conducting psychological assessments and participating in coordinated care planning Providing intake and walk-in sessions for clients Contributing to case reviews and decisions about treatment pathways Completing referrals to external service providers when needed Collaborating with partner organizations and key stakeholders to ensure seamless care delivery Performing additional duties to maximize service flexibility and effectiveness If you are passionate about providing compassionate care in a flexible, community-oriented environment, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the mental health and wellbeing of the Brimbank community.
Skills and Experience required:
Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Psychology Board of Australia) At least two years of professional experience in a clinical setting as a psychologist Experience in facilitating groups Demonstrated evidence of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team Excellent communication skills with patients, their families, colleagues, partners, and stakeholders Understanding and experience working in a social determinants framework and in working with marginalized and disadvantaged communities Strong working knowledge and experience in using a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions including CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, ACT Experience in working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities Working knowledge of trauma-informed care frameworks What's on offer?
