• Develop, embed, and implement controls associated with change initiatives impacting the Finance Division
The role would see you support risk management and embedding risk in change practices across transformation programs, such as UNITE, within the Finance Division.
How will I help?
As a Senior Manager BCM, you will be responsible for supporting the risk in change across multiple new and expanding projects within the Finance Division. With current programs in place to improve management and use of data in regulatory reporting and the group wide technology simplification including RACE and UNITE as Senior Manager, you will provide BCM support across delivery and delivered risks, across program and workstream outcomes. You will also support activities to drive risk management across the Finance Transformation portfolio, including supporting risk profile assessments, risk assessments into funding prioritisation, and the uplift the risk in change capability and tooling through initiatives which are divisional and enterprise wide.
Given the breadth of these multi-year programs and upcoming pipelines of work, this opportunity will see you supporting core risk management strategies and embedding risk in change practices across the transformation programs within the Finance Division.
Reporting to the Executive Manager, BCM, Risk in Change, you may play to your strengths in the delivery of strategic data assets and data capabilities, or your breadth of risk strategy capabilities by partnering with senior stakeholders on all matters of risk and control whilst balancing commercial and customer needs.
Day to day, your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting programs through the provision of strategic and technical risk advice across business case development, solution design, build, testing, and implementation
* Leading delivered risk activities including risk assessment activities to identify risks for the new operating model design, designing controls to mitigate risks and managing testing outcome impacts and implementation issues
* Providing risk advice for operating procedures, templates, checklists developed as part of operating model design
* Providing risk support for delivery of strategic data assets and data capabilities within the Finance division
* Leading delivered risk activities including risk assessment activities to identify risks for the new operating model design, designing controls to mitigate risks and managing testing outcome impacts and implementation issues
* Developing strong relationships with line 1 and line 2 risk and compliance specialists' enterprise wide and facilitating workshops with these stakeholders
* Escalating and presenting risk information at Program governance forums
* Contributing risk in change thematic insights into the broader Finance portfolio, and ensuring continuous risk in change practice development and improvements to enable quality risk assessments for projects
* Provide risk advice in the assessment, root cause analysis and remediation of incidents and issues.

Longer term, the role will assist in propelling your career in areas such as first line risk, the Group Transformation Office, Customer and Corporate Services, and Finance within the Westpac Group.
You’ll be scaffolded to grow during your transition to the role. Collaborating in person two days a week in our Kent Street office, with Mondays being an ideal day for ceremonies to re-group for the week.

What do I need?
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced risk in change professional from a Banking and Financial Services or consultancy background. As a professional aspiring to continue building your business knowledge, you’ll lean into your deep expertise from areas like operational risk, financial risk, controls and exposure to data risk within projects.
* Further advantageous qualities and experience includes:
* Proven development and execution expertise in process and control simplification
* A passion for working with data, the ability to apply critical thinking and challenge the status quo
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Confidence in managing senior stakeholders with an outcome focussed mindset coupled with proven negotiation skills
* Having data assets and data capabilities knowledge will be highly desirable
* Relevant qualifications (risk, compliance or business-related)
