The Royal Hobart Hospital and Department of Health is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Staff Specialist - Rehabilitation vacancy.
As a Rehabilitation Specialist Consultant, you will participate in all aspects of the medical care of rehabilitation patients/clients across a range of settings, including acute inpatient, in-reach, ambulatory, and community rehabilitation services. The occupant will also be involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, be actively involved in research, and undertake quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities
* Provide services in Rehabilitation Medicine including diagnosis, treatment and care for patients, both inpatient and outpatient, at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH), Repatriation Centre and where appropriate, other health services in Tasmania.
* In consultation with other clinical services, assist with the management of RHH patients.
* Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs.
* Undertake research in Rehabilitation Medicine.
* Participate in such Hospital committee and administrative matters as required.
* Participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
* Contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes.
* Be prepared to undertake duties not specifically mentioned that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience expected from persons at this classification level.

Details of Appointment
Fixed term part-time day work (with on-call), working 60.8 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible from 17 March 2025 until 1 August 2025 or approximately 5 months.
Minimum Requirements
* Holds specialist registration; or
* Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) on the specialist pathway; or
* Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an IMG with a recognised overseas specialist qualification and assessed as having sufficient experience in the specialty.
