Your Opportunity
The Youth Beat program in Southern Tasmania is a voluntary service dedicated to supporting vulnerable young people, helping them establish strong social networks, address anti-social behaviour, and strengthen connections with family, community, and school. Leveraging a deep understanding of current issues affecting youth, Youth Beat Workers connect and engage with young people, maintaining their motivation and supporting them to make positive changes.
With a dual focus on Mobile Outreach and early intervention case management, this autonomous role involves delivering support for up to 15 young people. The role requires a confident, self-assured approach, particularly in managing risk and engaging youth in meaningful ways. With strong connections to local support services, Youth Beat empowers Tasmania’s youth to navigate and overcome complex challenges.

* Respond to referrals to the service from internal and external support services and coordinate case allocations.
* Develop strong professional relationships with young people and or their families, key stakeholders, and staff to contribute to the effective functioning of the service and improved outcomes.
* Work collaboratively with service staff to provide specialised support to address complex cases or emergency situations.
* Balance the desire to support the young people, whilst maintaining a focus on achieving the required performance and contractual outcomes.
* Facilitate mobile outreach engagement and support to vulnerable young people aged 8 to 18 who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
* Support targeted to young people who present with multiple support needs and are facing multiple risk challenges.
