Revenue and Property Officer needed - Apply now!Your new company A local council department is seeking an organised individual with exposure to levying of rates, charges and property administration to join their team on a temporary basis. Your new role To undertake rates operational activities, including data entry and administration of rates assessments and properties, responding to customer enquiries and providing support to Revenue & Property Senior Officer and Team Leader. Update rate files, import new costs, compile adjustments, process journals and refunds, make records available, and cleanse data.Reporting & Reconciliation tasks. Handle sewerage exception reports, Waste reconciliation, and monthly statistics.Rates adjustments. Applying general rates categories, classifications, create assessments, and manage community title schemes.Work with the state Government on valuation updates and discrepancies.Print title transfers, conduct title searches, record Crown Reserves, and manage exempt entity transfers.Monthly reconciliation tasks such as; aligning Council data with government data, processing new plans, and ensuring data accuracy.Fix discrepancies between property, rating, and other systems.Manage BPay View, Email registrations, direct debits, and liaise with banking and customers.Handle State fire levy returns, pensioner rebates, address changes, land use updates, and related correspondence.Process applications, maintain records, communicate changes, and confirm entitlements.Customer service tasks including, address changes, ratepayer queries, pensioner applications, discount requests, payment transfers, refund requests, rates investigations, estimates for new developments, and property descriptions.Process valuation changes, re-numbering, and associated updates.Participate in internal control processes. What you'll need to succeed Solid understanding and experience in local government operations, especially in levying rates, charges, and property administration would be highly beneficial.Proactive approach to work, effectively prioritising and managing time to deliver efficient and high-quality support services.Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with a strong emphasis on accuracy.Exceptional organisational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.Skilled at building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, handling interactions with tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity, upholding the highest ethical standards.Strong record-keeping abilities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation, records, and files, following established processes and procedures.High attention to detail and commitment to following mandated procedures and processes.Capable of updating and maintaining large customer management systems.
