**Deputy Director Science, Agriculture & Food Role Overview**
Cultivate Excellence in CSIRO's Ag & Food Unit
We work collaboratively to ensure the unit remains scientifically competitive and impactful globally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead strategic capability plan development and implementation for people and scientific infrastructure.
* Ensure research unit capability evolution and matching within A&F and CSIRO's other strategic science/research units.
* Provide organisational wide strategic leadership with a focus on agriculture and/or food.
* Contribute to Science Council, providing sound recommendations on investment in science.
* Establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Specialisation in agriculture and/or food with deep knowledge across the breadth of science.
* Demonstrated people leadership capabilities with high moral values around culture.
* Proven ability to empower, innovate and facilitate positive team relationships.
* Exceptional interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
* Ability to lead discussions domestically and internationally on behalf of CSIRO.
About You:
We are seeking a strategic, innovative and collaborative leader with experience in applied research and development in the agriculture and/or food sectors, as well as executing a strategic vision and plan that supports the organisation's goals and sustainability focus.
Location: Preference for Canberra, Brisbane or Adelaide. Other cities negotiable.
Salary: Attractive Salary plus Motor Vehicle Allowance plus 15.4% superannuation.
