Cost Control Director - Infrastructure and Defence

Our Infrastructure team has been helping the largest infrastructure clients across Australia with their complex projects. We have a new role for a Cost Control Director to help our Infrastructure and Defence projects in Adelaide, who can lead the teams across the full lifecycle of project through excellent interface management and stakeholder management.

The main purpose of the Cost Control Director is to optimise project success by delivering against agreed program objectives. Some of the key specifications we attribute to the purpose include:
* Oversee and lead the cost control team to ensure effective management of project cost.
* Work collaboratively with the Planning, Risk, Change, Reporting, Commercial, Delivery, and Finance teams to ensure integrated project controls.
* Develop and implement cost control plan & procedures to monitor and manage project cost.
* Understanding and knowledge of cost control systems like EcoSys, Prism, etc.
* Establish and maintain project budgets.
* Implement change management processes within cost control frameworks.
* Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and financial summaries for stakeholders.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
* Track actual costs against budgeted figures and analyze variances.
* Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring adherence to approved budgets.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and project contract requirements.
* Develop and implement Earned Value Management (EVM) systems to track project performance.
* Analyse project data to calculate EVM metrics.
* Prepare reports based on EVM metrics to provide insights into project progress and performance.
Minimum Requirements:
* Must be an Australian Citizen and able to work in Adelaide.
* 10+ years of experience with a minimum of 5+ years working in a Cost Control/Project Controls role.
* Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
* Strong knowledge of Cost Control and Project Controls.
* Proven experience in establishing and managing a cost control department within capital programs, preferably from the client side.
* Experience working in the infrastructure (marine, shipyards, civil) and the Defence sector.
* Experience of managing multiple concurrent projects at various stages of delivery.
* Experience operating at various stages in the project lifecycle.
* Strong stakeholder management skills including coordination and communication.
* Self-motivated team player with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
