We're looking for a dynamic and driven Service Manager for our Direk Service site in South Australia. In this pivotal role, you'll provide inspirational leadership with a firm focus on safety, quality, productivity, and world-class customer service. You'll face exciting challenges, ensuring service delivery meets agreed quality standards and schedules, while enhancing our safe working environment and delivering the exceptional customer experience our clients deserve, every single time. This is a dual shift working between 7am and 7pm through two service advisors. Your Responsibilities and Accountabilities Delivering Results Drive the business to achieve its performance targets. Develop business plans, forecasts, budgets, and performance targets in collaboration with the National Service Operations Manager. Work with the National Service Operations Manager to secure new and existing customers with compelling Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contracts that boost the service division's growth and profitability. Develop strategies to maximise value for our current and future service customers. Conduct staff performance reviews and training, adopting a consultative leadership approach to ensure individual competencies are optimised, benefiting both employees and the company. Collaborate with the team to investigate and resolve any quality issues. Take a proactive approach to enhance workshop quality output. Provide strong and positive leadership to foster a cohesive and high-performing team. Conduct quarterly and annual reviews of contracted customers, providing detailed performance reports. Operational Excellence Report monthly performance and corrective actions to meet or exceed performance goals. Act as a key conduit of information to the National Service Operations Manager regarding non-standard occurrences/non-conformances, and effectively manage Service Advisors and the Workshop Supervisor. Collaborate with the National Service Operations Manager & Service Advisors and Supervisors to resolve scheduling, project, and WHS issues. Work closely with the Parts team to ensure appropriate stock levels are available to support service activities. Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to achieve outstanding communication results at all levels of the business. Demonstrate strong leadership abilities by effectively delegating responsibilities to team members and exhibiting a sound understanding of operational expectations to achieve desired results efficiently. Coordinate internal and external audits as required. Collaborate with the National Service Operations Manager to facilitate training needs analysis, and arrange training to address any skills gaps and maintain company competency. Develop and ensure adherence to best practice production management. Ensure all documentation is accurately compiled and filed to meet record-keeping requirements. Health and Safety Conduct thorough investigations (Five Whys or ICAM) into near misses and recordable incidents and injuries, as appropriate. Maintain strict compliance with company and industry health and safety standards and housekeeping practices. Promote and enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance for all staff and site visitors. When a team member is injured, work with the Injury Management and Well Being Specialist to form a return-to-work processes in conjunction with our insurers. Report and manage the outcomes of any incident. Lead and participate in Health & Safety activities, such as Health & Safety observations, hazard identification, and risk assessment processes, in line with Company procedures and processes. Comply with responsibilities as detailed in the Health & Safety management system. Identify and report all hazards and incidents. Participate fully in the Health & Safety improvement process. Cooperate fully in any injury management process to ensure full participation in the workforce after being cleared fit for duties by a registered medical practitioner. Experience: Sound knowledge of Metal fabrication, vehicle body building, trailer mechanics, automotive spray painting and qualified in most or all of these areas. Strong relationship-building capabilities based on broad business experience. Proven selling and negotiating skills. Proven ability to engage and influence employees at all levels within a large global organisation. Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Proven ability to drive results. Technical/Functional Expertise: Sound knowledge of Metal fabrication, vehicle body building, trailer mechanics, automotive spray painting and qualified in most or all of these areas. Understanding of company policies and procedures and compliance requirements. Ability to determine accurate costings of materials and labour.
