About the role: An exciting opportunity to join the team at MacKillop is available, we are currently seeking a full time Education Specialist to join our Therapeutic Residential Care team.
This role will be based in Forest Hill, supporting our homes in the Eastern and South regions.

As an Education Specialist you will develop strong, supportive professional relationships to engage students and provide a safe and stimulating environment for learning.
In this role you will support young people living in Therapeutic Residential Care (TRC) settings to engage in education, experience success in learning and enhance the learning outcomes.
You will be working with support services to plan and deliver high quality trauma-informed engagement strategies.

The successful candidate will have relevant experience working with disengaged youth (age 12-17), preferably with experience in supporting students living in out-of-home care.
Key Selection Criteria: To be successful in this role, you will have:
Appropriate experience and/or qualifications in education.A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.Experience working with children and young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within a team (e.g.
