We are currently seeking a Development Engineer for a Council in North Queensland for a period of 12 months. You will be responsible for managing planning, development, and compliance matters while supporting infrastructure design tasks as needed.This role is ideal for a mid-level engineer looking to contribute to shaping the region's future.Key Responsibilities: Assess Development Applications and Material Change of Use applications, ensuring compliance with planning regulations.Draft practical and enforceable conditions for approvals.Provide technical advice on engineering compliance and development-related matters.Review and process subdivision and infrastructure approvals.Assist with infrastructure design tasks, depending on workload and capacity.Liaise with developers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth approvals.About You: Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field.Experience in development assessment, compliance, and engineering approvals.Strong ability to interpret planning schemes, engineering standards, and legislation.Practical experience in drafting conditions for approvals.Ability to work independently while collaborating with key stakeholders.RPEQ is not required, but relevant experience is essential.Hourly rate is negotiable. Self-contained accommodation will be provided for the duration of the assignment and travel expenses will be covered at the beginning and end of the assignment.
