The Director of Philanthropy is a frontline fundraising professional responsible for the management of a portfolio of prospects comprised of alumni, parents, and friends associated with the College of Pyschology and Liberal Arts with capacity and inclination to make major gifts to Florida Tech. Prospect management includes discovery and qualification of new prospects, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, with a strong focus on cultivating long-term relationships with donors who have the capacity to make transformative gifts, while leveraging the relationships and vision of college leaders to secure support for strategic priorities and initiatives.
The Director of Philanthropy communicates and travels extensively to develop and strengthen prospect relationships. Participates in a broad range of events on and off campus having a strategic impact on the success of individual prospect relationships. The Director works collaboratively with other staff in the Advancement Division, the Department of Athletics, as well as college administrators, faculty, and staff to support the College and it's stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a portfolio of College of Psychology and Liberal Arts major gift prospects with a strong focus on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding long-term relationships with donors who have the capacity to make transformative gifts
2. In conjunction with the Vice President of Philanthropy, establish prospect management goals for visits and solicitations.
3. Develop, plan, and participate in strategic donor engagement opportunities, such as small events for targeted prospects and larger donor stewardship events.
4. Develop and keep updated contact reports, opportunities, and solicitation efforts. Ensure the accuracy and timely entry of all information and records into the Blackbaud RENXT database.
5. Develop and demonstrate a multicultural awareness and contribute to cultivating an inclusive, diverse, and respectful college community.
6. Lead monthly meetings with College of Psychology and Liberal Arts Dean & secure prospective donor meetings for university leaderships to deepen relations
7. Additional duties as assigned by VP of Philanthropy
Requirements:
8. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent knowledge obtained through a combination of education, training and experience)
9. 5 - 8 years of experience in nonprofits and/or front-line fundraising of major gifts or planned gifts ($25k+)
10. Preference for higher ed experience

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report
The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information and impose certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.
Florida Tech’s 2024 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech, and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.
The numbers provided include crime statistics reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.
The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures, descriptions of prevention and awareness programs, related university procedures and important guidance, and other essential safety information.

Official Transcripts
Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment.
