We are seeking a talented Pre-Sales Engineer to join our Canberra head office. In this role, you will play a key part in developing technical solutions and executing Willyama’s sales strategy in collaboration with the national sales team.
As a trusted advisor, you will build strong, lasting relationships with customers while driving the development and delivery of effective IT solutions. This role involves a mix of architectural and technical responsibilities, spanning on-premises and cloud environments, and directly contributing to the success of our projects and customer engagements.
AGSVA Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Clearance is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement & Advisory
1. Build strong, proactive relationships with customers, becoming their trusted advisor for consultation and solutions.
2. Engage with customers and business representatives to understand their business needs, challenges, and potential IT solutions.
3. Translate complex technical concepts into simple, clear language for customers and stakeholders.
4. Deliver engaging, informative presentations that effectively showcase solutions and highlight business benefits.
Solution Development & Technical Support
1. Understand customer requirements and work with internal teams to design solutions that align with their needs.
2. Provide technical support and strategic advice to the sales team to help close deals and enhance customer engagement.
3. Develop sales materials, including presentations, solution briefs, and technical documentation, to support the sales process and ensure effective communication.
Project Collaboration & Execution
1. Work with internal teams to ensure a smooth build and handover to the business-as-usual (BAU) team when necessary.
2. Support current and new projects, contributing to the design and execution of IT infrastructure and cloud solutions.
3. Provide architectural governance across BAU operations and project delivery.
Market & Business Strategy
1. Analyse industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offerings to help inform strategy and improve positioning.
2. Drive business growth by identifying and developing opportunities within specific verticals or product lines.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. AGSVA NEGATIVE VETTING 1 CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED
2. 5+ years’ experience as an infrastructure architect with a proven track record in cloud design and implementation.
3. Technical expertise in Microsoft platforms, AWS, Azure Cloud, and Office 365, with certifications preferred.
4. Solid understanding of security standards and the ability to integrate them into architectural solutions (e.g., ISM, Essential 8).
5. Ability to drive process and technical improvements for both customer and internal engagements.
6. Proven experience in ITIL processes and architectural governance.
7. Strong documentation and stakeholder management skills.
8. Experience working within a Managed Service Provider environment.
