Your role will be pivotal in providing accurate financial insights that will guide our client's financial planning and decision-making processes.
You will be tasked with preparing comprehensive management reports, developing budgets, conducting detailed financial analyses, and ensuring effective governance.
Your expertise will also be vital in supporting internal and external audits, identifying process improvements, assisting in grant management, and maintaining financial policies.What you'll do:Prepare and present monthly management reports, including variance analysis and financial performance summaries.Develop, maintain, and monitor budgets and forecasts, collaborating with department heads to ensure accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.Conduct financial modelling and analysis to support decision-making and long-term planning.Prepare end-of-month reconciliations and assist with year-end financial processes.Provide financial advice and guidance to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.Assist with internal and external audits, preparing documentation and addressing audit queries.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.Support the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures.Assist in grant management and reporting to ensure compliance and optimal use of funding.What you bring:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, or equivalent).Proven experience in management accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of local government finance and regulatory requirements is highly regarded.What sets this organisation apart:Our client is a dynamic local government committed to enhancing the quality of life for its community through innovative services and infrastructure.
