Food & Beverage Supervisor-Kimberley Region-Western Australia Food & Beverage Supervisor-Kimberley Region-Western Australia We are seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Supervisor for this lovely property located in the Kimberley Region of remote Western Australia. The role would suit an experienced Manager/Supervisor who can assist the owners with the management of the property. The role is food & beverage based but also responsible for other areas of the hotel. As Food & Beverage Supervisor you will be required to build and maintain relationships with internal and external guests, suppliers and contractors. You will highlight short/medium/long-term issues to be discussed with the Owners or as directed. You will be required to help formulate solutions to any issues. Featuring onsite accommodation, restaurant, bars and function / conference rooms, the property caters to local, corporate and tourist clientele and hosts many functions and events throughout the year including conferences, parties and private functions. Working alongside the team to ensure the smooth day to day running of the venue, this hands on role sees you working across all areas of the property with a particular focus on office and food & beverage. Being town based you have access to local shopping facilities and outside of work have the opportunity to explore some of Western Australia's most popular tourist attractions. Package: $75,000-$80,000 Accommodation $200 per week Discounted staff meals Own room with WIFI May lead to sponsorship after a successful probation period Your duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to: General: Responsible for supervising the overall everyday operation of the Hotel including the bar, restaurant and function rooms to ensure profitability, quality standards, cleanliness and guest satisfaction Promote a culture of excellence in guest care and a desire to exceed Prepare a costed weekly roster for submission to the Owners of the property directly weekly or as directed Report to the Owners directly or as directed Maintain personal qualifications and ensure all staff have completed their appropriate qualifications for food and Ensure there are several staff with the Approved Manager’s Course Maintain all registers required Staff: Supervise, conduct, identify or monitor any necessary staff learning needs and develop training where needed Conduct team meetings as and when required to discuss routine operational matters, targets, and any staff or operational issues. Records should be kept of all meetings Promote positive employee relations culture through effective communication and regular supervision/meetings Ensure that reasonable care is taken for the Health and Safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other persons on the premises Ensure communication is always professional by all employees with guests Involvement in the hiring of staff Bar : Managing the business aspects of the bar, such as maintaining the requirements of a current liquor licence, negotiating supplier contracts, stocktaking inventory and reordering supplies where required, managing budgets, setting goals and maintaining any necessary registers and staff documentation Follow any necessary regional alcohol licensing Create a drink menu and pass to the owner for approval and maintain drink recipe documentation inclusive of the alcohol licensing restrictions Ensure Bar is clean and well stocked at all times Clean beer lines every fortnight Conduct regular stocktakes and report any discrepancies as required Quickly resolving conflicts in scheduling to ensure that the bar is well staffed during peak hours Delegate work tasks Setting and enforcing quality and safety Ensuring licences are updated and in line with current legislation and maintain work safe procedures. Working with diverse personalities both on the staff and patrons Planning and taking part in promotions Diffusing tense situations between patrons or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues, ejecting unruly persons, if needed while maintaining an Incident Register Maintaining a fun, safe atmosphere for staff and patrons Restaurant/Functions : Lead by example and uplift the staff Create regular menus to suit the clientele in conjunction with the kitchen Manage the catering requirements and rooms for the bus and functions Manage the setup and catering requirements Ensure the restaurant runs smoothly Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House Deliver superior service and maximise customer satisfaction Respond efficiently and accurately to customers Regularly review product quality and research new options Help organise shifts and supervise their smooth operation Assist in the appraisal of staff performance and provide feedback to improve Estimate future needs for goods, utensils and cleaning Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety Manage the restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve Control operational costs and identify measures to cut Assist in creating detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media advertisements) Train new and current employees on proper customer service Candidate Requirements: You will be dynamic and engaging with excellent work ethic You will be highly skilled and able to bring a team together Ideally, you will be highly experienced in your field, and have a passion for training others to provide the service that guests deserve Must have or be able to obtain a WA Approved Managers License Experience as a Fire Warden and First Aid Officer (desirable) Experience with hotel booking systems – preferably RMS (desirable) Able to commit to minimum 12 month contract Other Information: Access via daily flights, sealed roads or bus Full Telstra Internet & Mobile access.
