About the role
Working in the Gibson Unit, the Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment. The Gibson Unit is a fast-paced environment that consists of 21 inpatient beds and 10 chairs in our Day Infusion Unit and cares for patients with acute Oncology needs, General Medical, Chronic Pain Management and Palliative Care.
You would be joining a kind and caring team who are supported by a Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinical Nurse Educator, Cancer Care Coordinator and Social Worker. Staff have access to Clinical Supervision as a member of the Gibson Team.
Your main duties will include:
1. Plans nursing care in consultation with individuals/groups, significant others and the interdisciplinary health care team.
2. Delegates aspects of care to others according to their competence and scope of practice and provides effective and timely direction and supervision to ensure that delegated care is provided safely and accurately.
3. Ensure that all clinical and administration documentation requirements are initiated and accurately completed in a professional and timely manner.
About you
1. AHPRA Registration.
2. Working With Vulnerable People check.
3. Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital environment.
4. Passion for excellence in Palliative and Oncology nursing.
5. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in an acute care and/or hospital setting.
6. Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity.
7. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
