NSW Government CouncilPart Time Contract Role - Until 09 May 20253 Days per Week - 21 Hours$71.84 per hour + SuperBlacktown LocationPurpose of RoleTo meet the objectives of the City Planning and Development Directorate, as established by Council, through the Council's Management Plan, Policies, Resolutions and Operating Plans.Act in accordance with the NSW Work Health Safety Act 2011, Work Health Safety Regulation 2017 and the Work Health and Safety (WHS) System.Key AccountabilitiesPrepare correspondence, reports and memoranda as required in completion of assigned work tasks.Assist in preparation of evidence on Council's behalf, as and when required, for use in Court proceedings, in conjunction with the Coordinator Strategic Planning.Assist with the initiation and development of systems that enhance the quality and timeliness of services provided by the section, and that support the operation of the City Planning and Development directorate.Address public meetings, seminars, courses, Council meetings and the like in relation to the work of the Strategic Planning and Economic Development section where required.Represent Council on external committees, advisory bodies or working parties, as requested.Liaise with relevant statutory authorities, government departments, other councils and directorates of Council where required.Represent the section on internal committees, advisory bodies or working parties, as directed.Ensure that a positive image of the Strategic Planning and Economic Development section is provided by all staff members to both internal and external customers.Assist the Coordinator of Strategic Planning in recruiting and selecting staff.Supervise the work of the Student Town Planners and other staff as it may relate to the preparation of environmental planning instruments and development control plans, or other work of the section.Act as Coordinator Strategic Planning, as required.The management of volunteers if required by the role.Other duties as directed consistent with the operations of Council.Qualifications & ExperienceDegree in Town Planning or a related field.Significant relevant work experience, including:- working with other disciplines and coordinating input from various professionals.- preparing environmental planning instruments and development control plans, policy development and preparation.Current Class "C" driver's licence.How To ApplyClick APPLY or contact Consultant Gemma on ****** for a confidential discussion.
