What's the role? The Advertiser is seeking a talented and creative Photographer to join our dynamic team in Adelaide. This role requires an individual with a keen eye for compelling visuals, a passion for storytelling through photography and video, and strong editing skills. The successful candidate will contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality journalism and engaging content to our readers. - Capture high-quality photographs and video footage for news stories, features, and events across various subjects, including breaking news, sports, culture, and community events. - Collaborate with reporters, editors, and other team members to conceptualize and execute visual storytelling. - Edit and enhance photos and video content using industry-standard software to ensure they meet publication standards. - Stay current with photography and videography trends and techniques, bringing fresh ideas and creativity to the team. - Manage and maintain photography equipment, ensuring all gear is in optimal condition. - Adhere to deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. - Engage with the community and build relationships to identify and capture unique stories. Who are you? - Proven experience as a photographer, preferably in a journalistic setting. - Proficiency in video shooting and basic editing skills. - Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of photography styles and subjects. - Familiarity with photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro). - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - A strong understanding of visual storytelling and the ability to convey narratives through images and video. - Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region as required.
