Our mission is simple: to make electric power safer, more reliable, and more economical.Project Engineer – Protection ( Melbourne ) Key Responsibilities: Perform power system studies such as arc flash, short circuit, load flow, power flow, system transient, insulation coordination and relay coordination.Design power systems protection solutions and create protection relay settings on various customer projects.Analyse technical specifications and create detailed physical and electrical designs, bill of materials, and job estimates (proposals).Undertake factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing and commissioning at various remote customer sites within Australia and potentially in the Asia Pacific regionWork within project teams to meet project deliverables.Work with Sales Team to understand customer's requirements, prepare proposals and deliver projects.Work with end client and/or sub-contractors to understand requirements, define a solution and achieve project milestonesTo be successful in this role you will have the following: Degree in Electrical Engineering or similarExtensive experience in the power industryDemonstrated experience using SKM Power Tools, Digsilent, ETAP, PSSE and/or RTDSA high level of knowledge of secondary systems testing,including protection relay secondary injectionA high level of knowledge of protection schemes and developing protection settingsWilling to work extended periods at remote customer sitesAbility to learn new skills and assume new responsibilitiesAbility to work cooperatively in team environmentAbility to lead projects and be responsible for Budget, quality and scheduleAbility to work independently with minimal supervision Desirable: Software, integration and automation experience in relation to industrial controls, PLCs, industry protocols (IEC-61850, DNP, Modbus), Ethernet systems, protocol analyzers, and industry SCADA practicesKnowledge of SEL productsTo Apply For This Position:Interviews will commence shortly, so if you have what it takes to be successful in this role, please apply now by providing your CV and a brief cover letter regarding your suitability for the role.
