What you will be doing
Peninsula Health delivers surgical services to public patients at two sites: Frankston Hospital and Frankston Public Surgical Centre. Frankston Hospital operates 10 operating rooms, including a dedicated Emergency Theatre and an interventional Vascular suite. Peninsula Health also provides care at Frankston Public Surgical Centre through five operating rooms, including one endoscopy theatre.
The Otolaryngology (ENT) Surgery Unit at Peninsula Health is part of the Department of Surgery that also includes the other surgical specialties of General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Thoracic Surgery, FacioMaxilliary Surgery and Urology.
An Otolaryngology (ENT) Surgeon is required work alongside three ENT surgeons, one ENT Fellow, three registrars and one HMO. The Surgeon has access to regular theatre time, with both elective and emergency lists, and outpatient clinics. The Surgeon will be required to participate in the on call roster for one week in four. Peninsula Health is committed to encouraging and fostering an environment of continued learning and skill development. The surgeon would have access to financial and leave support for continuing medical education activities.
* Successful completion of FRACS 2nd part exam / FRACS (or equivalent)
* Eligible for registration with AHPRA as a medical practitioner
* Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary medical and evidence based practice
* Commitment to patient care
* Demonstrated initiative and self-direction
