Base pay range
A$110.00/hr - A$140.00/hr
About the role
Our federal government client requires a skilled Senior Data Platform Administrator to work in a high performing data warehousing team delivering analytics products to support business outcomes. A Senior Data Platform Administrator oversees the architecture, implementation, and maintenance of data platforms, ensuring they meet organisational needs for data storage, processing, and analysis.
Key responsibilities
* Advanced knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
* Proficiency with various DBMS platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and NoSQL databases
* System architecture and optimization
* Data security and compliance, including access controls and encryption, and ensuring compliance with regulations
* Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Skills and experience
* Performance Management, Project Leadership, and Troubleshooting Successful management of large-scale, complex data systems. Skills in monitoring database performance and implementing optimisation. Understanding hardware, storage systems, and networking to optimize database performance and scalability. Implementing robust security measures, including access controls and encryption, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues efficiently.
* Language and Tool proficiency – Advanced knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL). Proficiency with various DBMS platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and NoSQL databases. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for deploying and managing databases. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automating routine tasks and managing configurations.
* Collaboration and Team Work – ability to work independently with limited guidance to create self-direction in uncertain and rapidly changing environments, displaying the characteristics of creativity and resilience. Ability to work openly and collegiately in a multi-disciplinary team, displaying a genuine consideration of how members from other disciplines contribute to the overall outcome. Have a strong focus on people and business outcomes over formal methodologies.
* July 1st start - 12 month initial contract with 2 x 12 month extension
* Flexible hybrid working arrangements - Offices across Australia
* Must be able to obtain Baseline clearance
