Pip Jankowski (People and Culture Consultant) Status: Full Time or Part Time (0.8) 11/11/2024 About the role As the Marketing and Engagement Manager, you will lead the development and execution of marketing, communications, public engagement and volunteer involvement strategies that support Barwon Coast's mission. Your role is pivotal in promoting the protection, enhancement and responsible use of the 19km of coastline under our care. Key responsibilities include: Strategic Leadership: Drive the overall marketing, communications, and engagement strategy to strengthen Barwon Coast's public image and increase awareness of our environmental and recreational initiatives. Team Leadership: Foster collaboration amongst the Marketing and Engagement Team and Barwon Coast team, ensuring cohesive, consistent messaging across digital platforms and public engagement channels. Community Engagement: Lead outreach efforts, educational programs, and volunteer initiatives that align with Barwon Coast's environmental goals. Work closely with Traditional Owners, community groups, and stakeholders to amplify participation and promote coastal stewardship. Marketing Campaigns: Develop targeted marketing and communication campaigns that enhance public understanding of coastal management efforts and foster positive community relationships and to increase use of the three accommodation facilities. Stakeholder Partnerships: Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including local community groups, environmental organisations, government bodies and volunteers. About you You are a strategic thinker with proven leadership capabilities and a passion for environmental conservation and community engagement. Your background includes: Experience in marketing, communications, or community engagement, ideally in a related sector such as environmental management, not-for-profit, tourism or government. Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and drive results. A track record of successfully managing marketing campaigns, community outreach programs, and volunteer engagement initiatives. Commercial savvy, with experience managing budgets and delivering cost-effective strategies. An understanding of coastal planning and environmental management (desirable but not essential).
