You would be providing mental health clinical expertise, supportive advice, and clinical care to young people and their families/significant others that present with complex mental health concerns in collaboration with mental health and paediatric services within the Emergency Department and inpatient facilities at the North West Regional Hospital.
This newly created role will provide treatment recommendations and specialist support to the Emergency Department staff, relevant inpatient unit staff, other health professionals, and community support organisations as required and assist with clinical decision making and the planning, implementation and evaluation of care given to young people to facilitate a person-centred and recovery-focused approach.
Our Aim:The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) in Tasmania is growing! We are seeking passionate and dedicated clinicians to provide clinical services to children, young people, and their families/significant others experiencing complex mental health concerns. These new positions will work alongside existing CYMHS services and have been developed as initiatives under the CYMHS reform program (Youth, Youth Forensic, Out of Home Care).
The Youth Mental Health Consultation Liaison Clinician will have a passion for providing a person-centred approach and working within a multidisciplinary team environment, providing high level clinical coordination.
The Role Will Include: Providing a specialist triage, crisis and clinical assessment service that supports right place, right time and right care principles to facilitate determined need, and undertaking high level assessments including development and implementation of care planning for designated clients.Supporting the reduction of Emergency Department waiting times, admissions and early discharge to all inpatient wards or Youth Mental Health Hospital in The Home through the identification, negotiation and initiation of alternative appropriate and safe community-based supports, and where required completing 7-day follow up arrangements.Promoting a positive working culture by developing effective partnerships and exceptional working relationships with all stakeholders, both within the Agency and with external community service providers, and providing services that are person-centred, high quality, sustainable and responsive to ongoing quality improvement.Working with an amazing and diverse group of clinicians as part of the collaborative multidisciplinary team, including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.

Position Features Shift Work10-hour shifts – 10.00am – 8.00pm
Details of Appointment Multiple permanent full-time shift worker positions working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $106,966 - $123,013 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
