What’s on offer?
We are seeking a suitably qualified Cost Engineer to join the Coomera Connector project based in Helensvale, Queensland. This significant project will change how Gold Coast residents get around and improve journeys between the growing communities. It will also mean more reliable travel times between Brisbane and the Gold Coast by alleviating congestion by removing up to 60,000 local trips a day from the M1 Pacific Motorway.
In this position you will provide consultation on planning, coordination, and cost control of Projects and expert knowledge of estimation, budgeting, and scheduling principles, as well as:
* Develop, track, and adjust project budgets with Project Managers and Finance teams.
* Analyse project costs and forecasts, identifying potential risks and corrective actions.
* Review contracts to ensure compliance with financial terms and conditions.
* Track and analyse project costs, expenditures, budgets, and forecasts to ensure alignment with project objectives and financial targets.
* Prepare accurate financial forecasts, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
* Collaborate with teams to implement cost control enhancements and risk mitigation strategies and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project financial performance.
We are seeking:
* A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; CPA/CMA or advanced degree is advantageous.
* Proven experience in cost control or financial management, ideally in construction, engineering, or infrastructure with expert knowledge of estimation, budgeting, and scheduling principles.
* Proficiency in financial modelling, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
* Strong analytical skills for interpreting financial data and generating insights.
* Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies.
* Excellent IT skills with JDE & Felix experience preferred, familiarity with project reporting tools such as Power BI and experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects advantageous.
