Randstad has been given the exclusive opportunity to recruit for an exciting new role of a Quality Assurance Officer for our clients based in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne. Working within the FMCG sector, this opportunity will give an individual the opportunity to join a leading food manufacturer that is Australian owned and operated.
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, being the second in charge of the team, this position will play a pivotal role within the Quality team, ensuring that food products meet the established standards of quality and food safety.

ABOUT THE ROLE
1. Monitor and validate critical control points to ensure compliance with quality standards.
2. Arrange and coordinate micro testing through external laboratories, ensuring timely and accurate results.
3. Maintain comprehensive records of monitoring activities and take appropriate actions when necessary.
4. Schedule and arrange equipment calibration to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
5. Manage allergen controls and conduct verification activities to prevent cross-contamination risks.
6. Prepare, review, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
7. Monitor the implementation of SOPs and identify areas for improvement.
8. Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting the audit process.
9. Inspect the facility to ensure a high level of cleanliness is maintained to meet food safety requirements.
10. Assure ongoing compliance with quality and food safety regulatory requirements.
11. Inspect equipment to meet quality control standards.
12. Set up cleaning standards for the plant and equipment and monitor compliance.
13. Provide recommendations on procedures, standards, and equipment to maintain product quality.
14. Ensure the correct quality process is followed and provide training as necessary.
15. Assist the Production Supervisor with hands-on operational activities when needed to meet production requirements.
16. Working hours of 8am- 4pm with some flexibility if issues arise
17. Managing a team of 4 Quality Inspectors
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
18. A minimum of 5 years of experience within a similar role
19. Bachelor’s degree preferably in Food Technology, Food Science
20. Strong understanding of QA processes in the food industry
21. Food Safety Training in HACCP and GMP
22. Self-motivated with proven leadership skills.
23. Process Implementation & Improvement: Experience implementing company process or policy, ability to actively identify and develop improvements
24. Prior experience in food environment
25. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suit
