The role is for a full-time Quality Assurance Officer to join Meriton’s construction division in QLD. This is a great opportunity to progress your construction career. Reporting to the National Site Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for assisting site teams in managing their quality assurance obligations. You will be results driven and ensure project teams are following quality and completion processes as per Meriton’s Quality Management Systems to promote a culture of continual improvement.
Your responsibilities in the role will include:
Undertake site QA audits across Meriton’s portfolio of projects and prepare reports summarising quality issues, observations, non-conformances along with recommendations for corrective actions.
Work and support site-team members to close-out QA audit reports.
Review, monitor and provide feedback on a project’s quality to various levels of management.
Document quality concerns and performance measurements for management review.
Contribute to the continual development of Quality Management Plans, systems and procedures such as ITPs.
Promote awareness across project teams and on-board training in the QMP and relevant systems.
Develop and maintain Quality Control functions within online repositories such as Autodesk and/or Procore.
Provide reports, including the compilation of Quality Committee minutes and quality tracking data across sites.
You will show capabilities to:
Learn Meriton’s Quality Management System of procedures, processes, and site QA expectations.
Undertake independent inspections of a contractor’s quality control processes, documentation and works.
Undertake site QA audits to identify any observations, non-conformance issues and defects.
Ensure quality related milestones and close-outs are met within the specified time frame.
Manage quality functions of both in-house and 3rd party stakeholders (such as contractors, consultants, etc.).
Coordinate as-built site quality testing to be undertaken by independent providers.
Monitor and inspect construction activities, advising management on quality issues, including non-compliance with standards, regulation, or poor performance.
Update the Quality Management Plan, systems, and procedures as required.
Communicate quality standards to the site team and other project stakeholders.
Provide recommendations to resolve any issues, defects or poor performance concerns.
Ensure project teams are compliant with local, state and federal legislative requirements.
Ensure the quality of design documentation is consistent across projects and consultants.
To be successful in this role, the following skills & experience are required:
5 years of Highrise Residential Building Supervision experience. Experience as a QA officer will be an advantage.
High level understanding of NCC/BCA and Class 2 construction related Australian Standards.
Be motivated, willing to learn and confident in communicating with people, both verbally and in writing.
Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and the ability to self-manage priorities, time and workloads.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient computer skills, with software such as Procore, Aconex, Microsoft Word, Excel or similar.
Tertiary Qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering or Civil Engineering (University or TAFE is acceptable).
This is a full-time, permanent position.
