MUNGABAREENA ABORIGINAL CORPORATION (MAC) ABORIGINAL FAMILY VIOLENCE PRACTITIONER – Full Time Location - The Orange Door Wangaratta Salary range $ 80,000 to $84,000 a year based on experience This is an identified position for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants only The Orange Door is an Australian-first model that brings together practitioners from specialist family violence, child and family, persons using violence, and Aboriginal services to provide an integrated response for community. The role of the Aboriginal Family Violence Practitioner is to provide a visible contact point, where community know where to go for specialist support, help for people to identify family violence and child and family safety and wellbeing issues. We now seek someone who has: Experience as a specialist support person and adviser to victims, families and children as well as perpetrators Complex family violence case consultation experience A strong understanding of the issues relating to family violence Experience in screening, assessment, triage, and referral processes Capacity to sharing practice knowledge on Aboriginal approaches to holistic healing and whole of family practices A clear concept of the culture required to deliver effective, culturally safe, and responsive services for Aboriginal people Worked collaboratively within community networks, with community leaders, engaged with Elders and other service providers to ensure a supportive, integrated response to family violence. You will need to possess: Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent preferred. Diploma in Community Services, Cultural Diversity, or related field will also be considered Sound knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal Family Violence and experienced in delivering culturally safe and responsive practices within a family violence integrated service model Strong understanding of the law and legal system in family violence contexts Experienced in multi-disciplinary and multi-agency collaborative work - Aboriginal and mainstream You may have some experience working within social and emotional wellbeing frameworks and teams.
