The role will suit a candidate that has several years of farm experience.About the roleWe invite applications for a full-time position, Farm Operations Manager to join our team and be part of a successful intensive farming operation that is owned by a market-leading, innovative and global company.The Advantage Feeders farm is in Burrumbeet, Victoria, just 20km from Ballarat. The objective of the farm is to push the boundaries of ruminant production through increasing pasture production, feed utilisation, and animal husbandry.The role is practical in completing livestock and machinery tasks in addition to using the latest technologies in livestock management.Objectives:Care for the herd of approximately 7000 ewes plus offspringManage the movement of livestock through the paddocks (electric fenced cells) grazing annual pastures, forage crops and perennial pastures.Manage the 5000-lamb feedlotUse JCB telehandler to provide supplement feed to livestockManage and work with casual staff to complete animal health and lamb marking activities.Driving tractors for mowing, raking, carting hay and tillage, seeding, spraying and spreading.Equipment maintenance, including oil changes, replacing bearings, greasing equipment.Test new equipment developed by Advantage Feeders.Improve the infrastructure of the propertyWe can teach you how to do the job, but values come from within.
