About the Position:
As a Project Control and Financial Management Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating project schedules, tracking financial performance, and ensuring compliance with governance requirements. This is a key role that ensures the timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
Key responsibilities include:
* Create and maintain project schedules, including cost, resources, and baselines
* Provide regular updates to Project Managers and Engineers on schedule development
* Monitor project progress and evaluate resources to ensure accurate cost forecasting
* Report project and portfolio progress using tools such as Project Online, AFO, and Power BI
* Track and report on project financials, including cost and trend analysis
* Ensure project documentation and compliance with governance requirements
* Lead the portfolio budgeting process and manage its execution
* Offer guidance on Synergy processes and values
* Assist with project procurement, contracts management, and milestone achievement
* Resolve issues promptly and ensure stakeholder expectations are met
* Maintain effective working relationships with Synergy staff, contractors, and leadership
Skills and Experience Required:
* Tertiary qualification in Business Administration or a related field
* Minimum 2 years experience in a project environment
* Strong understanding of project lifecycles, methodologies, and change management processes
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and project management software
* Demonstrated experience with SAP's project management module
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and financial analysis skills
* Commitment to following agreed processes and continuous improvement
* Current Australian Driver's Licence
* Preferred Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualification in Project Controls/Management
* Minimum 5 years experience in a similar project environment
* Proficiency in MS Scheduling, MS Project, and Primavera P6
* Experience with MS Project Online and Power BI
