As a Residential Youth AOD Worker you will be required to work a 24 hour roster which includes day, evening and night shifts. The application of clinical skills in the assessment and support of drug and/or alcohol withdrawal (including medication management) from substance use as well as a focus on primary health care for vulnerable young people.Key selection criteria for this role includes:Demonstrated understanding of working with young people with problematic alcohol and drug issues in a residential setting.Ability to facilitate groups with young people, and willingness to participate in recreational and other activities with young people.Demonstrated understanding of care planning and review.Ability to engage and communicate with young people from a range of backgrounds (including cultural awareness) and age groups.Ability to maintain a professional approach in all communications with internal and external service providers.Ability to practice a range of interventions appropriate to the young people accessing residential services.Please note:Service delivery aspects of the role may be modified in order to comply with Victorian Government COVID-19 guidelines.As part of our Employment screening process you will be required to undertake a National Criminal History check and have a current Working with Children Check.You must have Australian work rights to apply for this position.Further EnquiriesIf you have any questions, please contact hr@ysas.org.au regarding the position of Residential Youth Worker – Recruitment Ref.
