Job Description
The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos seeks a Sr. Network Design Engineer to perform network engineering, design, analysis, and installation.
Primary Responsibilities
* Support the installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices.
* Respond to and resolve incident tickets.
* Draft and implement standard network change requests.
* Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), and coordinate and install new equipment).
Requirements
* TS/SCI with Poly.
* Candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education.
* Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
* Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals.
* Working knowledge of layer 2 switching concepts.
* Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes.
* Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience (CAT5, Single Mode (SM)/Multimode (MM) Fiber, Serial cables, Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP)).
* Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) models.
* Knowledge of Cisco Internetworking Operating System (IOS), Juniper JUNOS, and the Brocade and Foundry Operating System (OS).
* Familiarity (doesn't need to be a SME) with Layer 3 protocols such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP), Multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), Language Server Protocol (LSP), and Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE).
* Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, ServiceNow, and Atlassian Confluence.
* Working knowledge of Service Now or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products.
