As one of the world's leading grains research organisations, the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) plays an integral role in driving research outcomes and innovations that directly benefit the Australian grain industry.We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Analytics Programs to join our team in Adelaide, Canberra, Perth, or Toowoomba.This key role will predominantly oversee and manage GRDC’s investment in the Analytics for the Australian Grains Industry (AAGI) Program. AAGI represents an investment exceeding $80 million over five years in a strategic partnership aimed at leveraging analytics to enhance the sector’s profitability and global competitiveness.The initiative is designed to deliver grower-facing analytics technologies and collaborate with GRDC RD&E partners and other stakeholders to advance Australian grains research, development, and extension (RD&E) outcomes.The AAGI program unites three strategic partners: Curtin University, the University of Queensland, and the University of Adelaide, in conjunction with a variety of associate partner organisations, including premier Australian and international universities, state government research agencies, and commercial technology and analytics providers. This collaboration aims to expand the sector’s analytics capabilities and address the grains industry's most pressing challenges.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will assist the Senior Manager and Business Group in developing business cases for analytics-focused investments and ensure contract management aligns with GRDC’s purpose.Oversee analytics-focused investments, ensuring good program governance and the development of robust R&D proposals.Actively manage a portfolio of R&D investments, ensuring timely delivery and quality of performance measures and milestones.Provide specialist technical support and leadership to the broader GRDC investment management team.Maintain extensive networks within relevant sectors, including commercial, grains industry, R&D, and government stakeholders.Support planning and executing path-to-market strategies for the extension or commercialization of project outputs.Candidate ProfileExperience:Minimum 5+ years of industry experience in agricultural research or related data and analytics-centric sectors (e.g., mining, space, life sciences).Proven experience (5+ years desirable) in negotiation, facilitation, and project management within relevant industries.Skills & Expertise:Proficiency in contemporary analytics approaches and tools (desirable).Strong analytical skills with the ability to think strategically, synthesize information, and provide sound advice and recommendations.Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence, motivate, and develop others.Demonstrated ability to develop business cases with a focus on returns for stakeholders/shareholders.Commercial Acumen:Solid understanding of commercial principles, including finance, brand management, intellectual property (IP) management, licensing, and deal development.Adaptability & Learning:Flexibility to work effectively in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.Commitment to continuous skill and knowledge development.Education:Degree in Science, Agricultural Science, Engineering, or Spatial Sciences.PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (highly desirable).Mandatory Requirements:Must be prepared to travel as and when required.Must be willing to undergo all Pre-employment Medical checks.Must have a valid Australian Driver’s Licence as deemed necessary.Please include a CV and cover letter in your application.GRDC is committed to supporting an inclusive and diverse workforce and welcomes and encourages applications from People with Disability (PwD), First Nations peoples, LGBTIQA+ people, people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds, mature age and young workers.
