About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Medicine team as a Sleep Laboratory Manager/Senior Medical Scientist, where you will be responsible for:
Overseeing the efficient operation of the Sleep Disorders Laboratory in collaboration with medical staff.
Managing scientific and technical staff/activities within the laboratory.
Formulating policies, procedures, and documentation for laboratory operations.
Providing budget oversight and managing financial aspects of the lab.
Ensuring the continuing quality of all services provided by the laboratory.
Maintaining a patient-centered focus and ensuring services meet patient needs.
Ensuring the laboratory meets and fulfills national sleep lab accreditation standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent.
Comprehensive knowledge of respiratory physiology and quality assurance.
Experience in a patient laboratory environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with staff at all levels.
Experience in documenting procedures and mentoring junior team members.
A commitment to maintaining the highest quality of services and continuous improvement.
Ability to resolve problems and implement new procedures when necessary or appropriate.
