The School’s priority areas of research are: Rural health workforce and training Health service delivery models in rural areas The health of rural populations The health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples Key Responsibilities: Develop and lead innovative research programs addressing rural health challenges. Build and manage multidisciplinary research teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Secure substantial external funding and publish research in top-tier journals. Strengthen relationships with rural health stakeholders at local, national, and international levels. Oversee the financial management of grants and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. Support the professional development of research staff and supervise postgraduate research projects. Represent the School in University and external committees, shaping policy and driving strategic initiatives. Promote community engagement and lead professional activities to elevate MRH’s research profile. What we are looking for: A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline with a significant research track record. Recognised as an international leader in rural health research. Proven ability to manage large research projects, secure funding, and mentor academic staff. Demonstrated skills in fostering cross-disciplinary research and engaging with health services.
