Where you'll be working Royal North Shore Hospital. This opportunity exists within the North Shore Ryde Maternity service. This position is supported by the midwives within the MGP, the Midwifery Unit Manager, Clinical Midwifery Consultant and Educators. What you'll be doing To provide quality woman centred, effective, evidenced based midwifery care in accordance with the ANMC National Competency Standards for the Midwife (2006) and to supervise the work of others as required. The midwife will consult and liaise with obstetric, medical and other appropriate staff as per the ACM National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and referral (PD2010_022) guidelines when deviations from the norm are identified. People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply. Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a high level of written and verbal skills with both patients and colleagues. Recent experience and competency to practise as a midwife in antenatal, labour, birth and postnatal care, lactation and infant feeding. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment. Current unrestricted NSW Drivers licence.
