About this opportunity
The National Operations Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the strategic plan to ensure that the customer requirements are being met and that the budgeted profit result is being delivered.
The National Operations Manager is accountable for all matters that affect the operation, and is expected to take clear and decisive action, quickly and professionally in accordance with the values and policies of the organisation.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
2. Target zero accidents across the Service unit (FMS, A&D, warehousing, etc)
3. Meet or exceed FinYr financial budget (EBIT)
4. Balance demand of customers, sales team, employees, and contractors while working on a variety of projects
5. Establish a profitable in-house A&D service function
6. Management of A&D contracts either directly or indirectly and any related work e.g. sub-contractors, temporary warehouses, etc.
7. Review, create and implement risk assessments and BOPs / SOPs / EARs
8. NCR management of goods and services
9. Manage the maintenance, inspection and testing programs for plant, equipment and premises engaging qualified personnel
10. Manage the inventory and service provision
11. Apply and coach the team to utilise the necessary Lean and OPEX tools and review the Opex model
12. Manage and improve the FMS fleet & warehousing efficiency nationally utilising the Track & Trace (IDC) system
Your skills and experience
Mandatory
13. Familiarity and senior level ability with OH&S and safe work practices
14. Proven people management capabilities coupled with substantial supervisory experience and superior communication skills.
15. Experience in a large business high volume fleet & distribution environment including vehicle track & trace systems
Desirable
16. Waste, recycling and/or packaging industry background
17. Knowledge of SAP or other similar business system. Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and email software.

18. Minimum of 8 years employment background in a national operational role, preferable incl experience in providing in-field services and logistics technologies
Desirable
19. Batchelor in Business, Administration Supply Chain or other logistics qualifications preferred but not essential
