The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd, has commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with planned production of up to 8 million tonnes per annum. With approvals in place out to 2046, the mine targets high quality coal with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Maxwell Underground Mine is currently seeking an enthusiastic Land and Property Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Environment, Community & Approvals Manager, the role will primarily be responsible for managing heritage-related issues, implementing land management activities, and managing offsite properties.
Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Coordinating rehabilitation activities for the site to achieve rehabilitation targets and goals.
* Managing environmental contractors to undertake land management activities including weeds management, feral animal management, bushfire mitigation, erosion control, and bioremediation.
* Engaging with the Aboriginal community, including coordinating site work and developing cultural awareness activities for the site.
* Inspecting and reporting areas affected by spontaneous combustion and coordinating appropriate remedial measures.
* Regularly meeting with leasees regarding rural properties and offsite property maintenance.
* Analyzing environmental-related data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
* Providing technical advice and guidance on environmental-related matters to support operations in the delivery of a safe, productive, and cost-effective mine.
* Providing input into the overall environmental strategy for the site.
* Liaising with local landholders, community members, and Government officials.
* Providing relevant environmental training for operational personnel.
* Helping develop a safety culture that supports the company’s values.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful, you will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
* Tertiary qualifications in Applied Science, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience within the Mining Industry.
* A thorough understanding of NSW environmental legislation.
* Experience in mine rehabilitation, biodiversity offsets, and land management activities.
* Prior experience in property management.
* Proficient in project and contractor management.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
