About the Opportunity: As a member of our highly respected NSW Ecology team, you will contribute to Umwelt’s reputation for ecological projects across NSW and grow our service capacity in this area. We are looking for senior and associate ecologist candidates with diverse experience in field work, assessments, legislative awareness and solid reporting and project management skills. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Senior Ecologist, and have sound ecological survey, reporting and assessment skills. You would have a passion for field work and a drive for delivering high quality outcomes. About You: We are looking for an experienced Senior Ecologist who has the following: Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, botany, zoology, environmental science (or similar) 5 years relevant experience Accreditation or experience under the NSW Biodiversity Offset Scheme is highly desirable Terrestrial flora and/or fauna survey experience, including the capacity to plan surveys and coordinate field teams Demonstrated experience in project managing medium and large-scale development and/or biodiversity offsetting projects Experienced in developing and maintaining positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including clients, government agencies and fellow team members Demonstrated experience in the collection and interpretation of ecological and spatial data Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience preparing and reviewing reports.
