The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is accountable for applying nursing expertise and contemporary teaching and learning practice to implement education programs for nurses that align with the strategic priorities of Hospitals North West, respond to emerging clinical needs, and facilitate professional development for the nursing workforce.
The Team:
Join our award-winning team of Clinical Nursing and Midwifery Educators and Clinical Facilitators who work across the North West of Tasmania as patient safety guardians. We build the clinical skills of the whole multidisciplinary team to respond to patient deterioration and develop innovative evidence-based programs.
The Role:
Clinical Nurse Educator for the Surgical Ward at North West Regional Hospital in Burnie.
* Provide education leadership and support for the dedicated team of nurses who support the surgical services at North West Regional Hospital.
* Establish the new Expanded Support Program for registered nurses in their first three years post registration.
* Provide clinical leadership and research and quality improvement support to the team to meet the National Safety and Quality in Health Care Standards.
Requirements: You need to be a Registered Nurse with postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field of nursing. Experience in clinical nurse education is essential, with further training in clinical education highly desirable.
Details of appointment:
Permanent, full-time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join the team. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $111,506 to $118,336 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013.
* You’ll have access to salary package benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year.
* Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full-time for three years or more.
In addition, the following allowances may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
