Woods & Co Recruitment has partnered with a leading boutique law firm that specialises in wills, estates, guardianship, and administration. They also manage the affairs of persons under disability through VCAT’s Guardianship List. They are seeking a Legal Assistant to work closely with the lawyers across the practice.
This varied role offers file management and client contact. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in wills and estates including applications for grants of representation and estate administration. The team of lawyers, clerks, and support staff work closely and collaboratively together to meet their clients’ needs.

What do you do…
* Assisting with probate and letters of administration applications
* Assisting with the management of VCAT administration files including liaising with clients with disability
* Diary and calendar management
* File maintenance
* Typing dictations
* Preparation of correspondence and legal documents including estate litigation matters
* Preparation and compiling of briefs to Counsel
* Billing and other administrative duties
What do you need…
* Experience in wills and estates would be highly regarded including applications for grants of representation and estate administration.
* Experience in VCAT Guardianship matters (particularly financial administration) and estate litigation would be highly regarded.
* You will have strong time management and organisational skills and a willingness to adapt to a varied workload.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience as a legal secretary/clerk/assistant.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
