We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Worker to join our team and make a lasting impact on the lives of the youth we serve.Role OverviewAs a Social Worker at Miya Services, you will play a key role in supporting and guiding youth in our residential program, providing therapeutic support, case management, and life skills development. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive.Key Responsibilities
Individual & Group Counseling: Provide counseling and therapeutic services to youth in individual and group settings, addressing emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges.
Case Management: Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans for each youth, working closely with the team to track progress and adjust interventions as needed.
Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support in crisis situations, helping to de-escalate conflicts, manage behavioral issues, and ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.
Family Support & Engagement: Build strong relationships with the families of youth, offering guidance, support, and education to promote positive family dynamics and reunification when possible.
Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with other social workers, program staff, and external agencies to ensure the holistic care of each resident, including educational and legal support.
Advocacy & Resource Navigation: Advocate for the needs of youth within the program and connect them with relevant community resources and services, such as educational opportunities, medical care, and life skills training.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate case notes, progress reports, and documentation in compliance with agency policies and regulatory standards.
Key Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW) or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in social work, preferably in a residential or youth-focused setting.
Licensure: Registered Social Worker (RSW) or equivalent licensure, depending on location.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with youth from diverse backgrounds.
Empathy, patience, and a commitment to youth empowerment.
Ability to handle high-stress situations with professionalism and compassion.
Knowledge of relevant social work practices, child welfare policies, and legal issues.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
