Position Overview: As a Class "C" Equipment Repair Technician you are responsible for assisting in the maintenance, repair and diagnostics/troubleshooting of all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) within the facility – this includes but is not limited to Electric Pallet Jacks, Forklifts etc.
You will be responsible for ensuring all repairs are documented and aligned with OSHA – state and federal policies as well as company policies to drive a safe working environment and culture.
Responsibilities: Assisting in the routine maintenance of MHE including but not limited to inspection, lubrications and adjustmentsWorking with experienced technicians within the department to identify, troubleshoot and repair issues with MHEAssisting with diagnostics and repairing of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problemsUse material handling equipment (center riders, long-forks, forklifts etc.)
in a safe manner moving MHE to and from maintenance shop for repairsRepairing and replacing defective components or systemsUtilizing hand and power tools to dissemble, repair and reassemble equipmentPerforming safety inspections in accordance with OSHA and company policies on all equipment prior to being released back to the floor for useConducting preventative maintenance following manufacturing guidelines and specifications within the established time frames – including oil changes, filter changes, calibrations, belt changes, adjustments, lubrications & fluids (hydraulic etc.)
changesMaintaining quality standards of product throughout shift – working in a damage free mannerRead and understand equipment schematics, operating and maintenance manuals to complete preventative and general repairs for all equipment being overseenClear and concise reporting of inspections, preventative maintenance, evaluations to managementLogging time and materials utilizing CMMS on a daily basis – repairs, preventative maintenance etc.Assist in cleaning and maintaining a safe working environment in the warehouseFlexibility to work various or additional shifts, as needed including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPerform other duties as assigned by leadershipWarehouse Perishable – approx.
26F - 60FSchedule: Sunday - Thursday2:00pm - 10:30pmExperience: Preferred: One (1) year technical experience – Automotive or Industrial EquipmentPreferred: MHE experience (Electric pallet jacks such as center riders or long forks; forklifts)Own and Maintain up-to-date tools of the tradeSkills: Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shiftPhysical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; the ability to operate required material handling equipment – getting on and off equipment throughout shiftStrong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basisOrganizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlinesWorking in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest qualityQuality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
