Key Responsibilities
* Develop comprehensive network designs that align with organisational goals and scalability requirements.
* Assist the Technical Services team to install and configure our network services including physical, virtual and cloud solutions.
* Ensure seamless integration of new network solutions with existing systems and applications.
* Continuously monitor network performance using various tools and technologies to detect and address issues proactively.
* Diagnose and resolve network problems, including connectivity issues, hardware failures, and performance bottlenecks.
* Plan and execute network upgrades and patches to maintain optimal performance and security.
* Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorised access and cyber threats.
* Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and intrusion prevention systems (IPS) to safeguard network integrity in consultation with the Cyber Security Team.
* Implement encryption protocols to secure data transmission across the network.
Qualifications
* A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
* Network certification such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+ is highly desirable.
* Working with Children’s registrations in NSW and ACT (WWCC and WWVP).
* Driver's License.
Selection Criteria
1. Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing network solutions, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
2. Experience with cloud networking solutions and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including virtual networks, VPNs, and hybrid cloud environments.
3. In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and their applications.
4. Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues efficiently and experience in managing network incidents and implementing effective solutions.
5. Experience in implementing and managing network security measures, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption protocols.
6. Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
7. Strong written communication skills for documenting network configurations, incidents, and performance reports to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
