Previous financial accounting experience in an architectural, design or building environment is essential This is the number one, non-negotiable, top priority for our client. With offices throughout Australia, they have an outstanding opening for a highly skilled Finance Manager to oversee their financial operations. Given their reputation, national presence and strong pipeline of projects, a proven background working in an Architectural studio will be integral to your success. This key role is vital in terms of maintaining the financial health and stability of the company. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial operations, including payroll, invoicing, accounts payable, reporting, tax compliance and systems management. Key Responsibilities Systems Management - develop, implement and maintain financial systems and internal controls Play a key role in implementing a project accounting system (Total Synergy) Payroll - process payroll, manage onboarding/offboarding, reconcile accounts and handle Workcover reporting Invoicing - prepare client invoices, track payments, manage overdue accounts and assist Project Managers with project accounting Accounts Payable - process and reconcile credit card statements, trade creditor invoices and sub-consultant bills and review invoices to ensure they align with budgeted fees and contracts Reporting - prepare monthly financial reports, P&L, balance sheets, project tracking reports and assist with quarterly and annual financial statement preparation Tax & Compliance - manage BAS, payroll tax and other regulatory requirements General Ad Hoc - bank reconciliations, ledger accounts, cash flow management support, supplier onboarding, insurance renewals and a variety of other financial and accounting related duties as required Qualifications and Skills Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting Proven background in a similar role within the Architecture or Design industry 8-10 years of experience Strong problem-solving, reporting, collation, analytical and research capabilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Deadline and results driven, highly organised and detail-oriented Proficient in Xero ideally (or other accounting software) and Microsoft Office We anticipate a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach would thrive in this environment, but you will need to move seamlessly between working autonomously, collaborating with the team, and supporting the Directors.
