A supportive school in Glen Waverley is seeking a passionate and innovative Systems Engineering and STEM Teacher for a full-time role teaching grades 7-12, including VCE, starting in Term 1. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and a strong understanding of systems engineering concepts. This role requires teaching a range of STEM subjects with a focus on real-world applications, preparing students for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. While some lesson planning support may be provided, the teacher will be responsible for tailoring lessons to suit individual student needs and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment. The role also includes participation in school-wide STEM initiatives and extracurricular programs.
Key Duties:
* Deliver engaging STEM and Systems Engineering lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum standards.
* Teach key concepts in systems engineering, coding, robotics, and other STEM areas.
* Assess student progress and provide constructive, formative feedback.
* Adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs and promote inclusivity.
* Manage classroom behaviour to maintain a positive and dynamic learning environment.
* Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school-wide STEM programs and initiatives.
Skills & Experience:
* Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
* Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
* Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
* Demonstrate previous experience as an SE and STEM Teacher - Graduates are welcome to apply too!
* Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
